One of the most anticipated releases in recent memory, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 2 imagines what would happen if Carl Johnson returns home to Los Santos after a 30-year absence.
GTA San Andreas 2 - Imagining CJ Returns to the Grove Street After 30 Years!
We are all thinking that GTA San Andreas 2 is going to be released in 2020. But what if CJ returns to Grove Street after 30 years? What would happen? How would he react? Would he be happy or sad What would his life look like after all of these years?
A new Unreal Engine 5 concept video imagines what a Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 2 with Old Man CJ might be like.
TeaserPlay, a YouTube channel, has created yet another Unreal Engine 5 concept video, this time imagining a possible sequel to the beloved Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was released to widespread critical acclaim in 2004 and is widely regarded as one of the best video games ever made. Rockstar's megahit has since been re-released on a variety of platforms, most recently on modern consoles as part of the contentious Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.
Rockstar Games rarely makes sequels that follow up on the stories in its games, with most Grand Theft Auto releases being solo affairs with a couple of appearances to indicate that they exist in the same universe. Despite its enormous success, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is no exception. CJ, a fan favorite, hasn't been seen since San Andreas, and while it's unlikely that Rockstar would ever make a straight sequel to the game, the new TeaserPlay video offers a glimpse of what it may be like.
The TeaserPlay video takes place in 2022, while the original Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas took place in the 1990s. It begins, though, in the same manner as the original game, with CJ returning to San Andreas and Grove Street, where he grew up. CJ is 55 years old and looks his age this time around, albeit he's still wearing the same wife beater and pants he wore in the original San Andreas, for whatever reason.
Clips from the original San Andreas are intercut with a scene in which CJ takes a taxi to Grove Street. CJ recalls the events of San Andreas with a solemn attitude. CJ arrives at Grove Street to find his childhood home abandoned, with graffiti covering the exterior. The footage shows no one else, but there are vehicles outside the other Grove Street homes, indicating that the neighborhood hasn't been fully abandoned.
This isn't the first time TeaserPlay has created a video for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The YouTube channel has developed numerous tributes to the classic game using Unreal Engine 5, such as one that recreated Big Smoke's fast food order scenario. TeaserPlay may create additional San Andreas Unreal Engine 5 concept videos in the future, but fans will have to wait and see.
