PlayStation has released the launch trailer for God of War Ragnarok, which features some of the returning character members like Kratos, Atreus, Freya, Tr, and others.
The official launch trailer for God of War Ragnarok has been released by PlayStation. The Sony-exclusive action-adventure is set to release early next month, and the new teaser features some returning characters and events from the previous chapter. God of War Ragnarok is the second installment in the franchise's Norse era.
God of War is a Sony exclusive title that spans many PlayStation generations. The game series began in early 2005 with God of War, which is also the title of the most recent God of War iteration on the PlayStation 4. God of War Ragnarok is the ninth instalment in the series, putting players in the footsteps of Kratos as the world approaches Ragnarok.
The launch trailer confirms that, in addition to Kratos, the adventures in God of War Ragnarok will include his son Atreus as a teenager. Atreus and his trusty bow can be controlled by the players to assist his father with tasks, puzzles, and combat. Other notable characters in the teaser include the Mimir's head on Kratos' belt, which aids him on his trip, and Freya, a previous ally of Kratos who is now seen fighting the God of War himself.
The new game is based mostly in a wintery Scandinavian landscape, while lush jungles are also there. As stated in the trailer's narration, this signifies that war is on the horizon and carnage is unavoidable.
Kratos is seen in the video holding hands with Tyr, Kratos' counterpart in Norse mythology who was assumed to have been killed. The Gods of War appear to join forces against the gods seeking vengeance on Kratos and his ilk. Fenrir is also shown following Atreus' arrow into the sky, while the Mjolnir, which appears in the teaser, reveals one of Kratos' opponents, the Thunder God Thor.
While the teaser focuses primarily on the narrative, cut sequences, and boss battles, God of War Ragnarok has received a minor upgrade in terms of normal fighting and foes. In addition to additional fighting choices, the game's user interface has been updated.
