Those who already have the game in their PC game collection will receive the latest update for free. CD Projekt Red has not verified the contents of the next update, nor has it shown us a trailer. More information and a gameplay reveal are expected to be released next week on CD Projekt Red's Twitch page.
Having said that, we won't have to wait long. What to expect from the update: ray tracing, faster load times, and downloadable content, most likely inspired by the Netflix series The Witcher.
For the uninitiated, The Witcher 3's upgrade was intended to arrive in 2021, around the same time as the Cyberpunk 2077 edition of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The next-generation update for Cyberpunk 2077, on the other hand, was released earlier this year, although with a delay. And The Witcher 3's next-generation update has been pushed back to December.
Nonetheless, the upgrade is only a month away, which gets us excited for the gameplay reveal next week.
In related news, CD Projekt Red earlier revealed The Witcher Remake, which will be built on the Unreal Engine 5. If you played the original, you might remember that it was only accessible on PC and Mac. It was later published for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The 2007 tale is now expected to be released in a few years for next-generation consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) as well as PC.
