Trainers will only have a limited time to catch Zorua during today's Spotlight Hour in Pokemon Go.
Pokemon Go has been teasing a Halloween-themed event with found-footage-style videos that look suspiciously like the trailer for Hisuian Zorua in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. As it turns out, Zorua is making his first appearance in Pokemon Go this Halloween—how here's to catch him.
Pokemon Go teasers included videos and screenshots of a large number of Pokemon such as Noibat, Magikarp, and Pikachu spawning on the map, as well as references to Shuppet's Spotlight Hour. Niantic has now revealed that Zorua is the Pokemon responsible for these mysterious spawns, which are linked to the Trainer's buddy Pokemon.
If you want to catch Zorua in Pokemon Go, you must have your friend on the map during tonight's Shuppet Spotlight Hour, which runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in players' local time.

Multiple copies of your buddy Pokemon will spawn on the map for the first five minutes of the Spotlight Hour, even if it's a Legendary or other rare Pokemon. When you tap on these Pokemon, the trickster Pokemon Zorua will appear instead.
Although Niantic has stated that this event will occur in both the first and last 5 minutes of the Spotlight Hour, early reports from players in New Zealand indicate that the event has not spawned for a second time at the end of the hour. It's unclear whether this is a bug that will be fixed for other regions, or if players will only see one instance of this event—but you should log in before the Spotlight Hour begins just to be safe.
The second part of Pokemon Go's Halloween event will begin this week on October 27; for more information, click here.
