The monthly free games for PlayStation Plus in August 2022 have been revealed. Starting next week, these titles will be available to users of the PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium subscriptions. Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle, and Little Nightmares will be available to PS Plus subscribers on August 2. These games can be added to your game library until September 6, after which you will need to keep your subscriptions in order to play them.
Sony announced the news on the PlayStation blog, detailing the games that would be added to the collection in August. Expect another announcement in July, when PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe customers will receive additional games as part of the Game or Classics Catalogue.
PS Plus: Yakuza Like a Dragon, August 2022
Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the latest release from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, is up first. Ichiban Kasuga, an ex-Yakuza member, returns to Tokyo after serving 18 years in jail for a crime he never committed. Players join up with a ragtag collection of outcasts to discover the truth behind his family's treachery. In addition to arcade games, go-karting, and various substories, this would be the first mainline Yakuza game to incorporate turn-based fighting. Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be released for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
PS Plus, in August 2022, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 will be released.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 by Vicarious Visions offers a spectacular skating experience for next-generation consoles. Players may participate in numerous challenges, learn new techniques, and even go head-to-head with local 2-player modes and online multiplayer, which have been rebuilt from the bottom up. Skaters from the original lineup, including as Tony Hawk, Kareem Campbell, and Bucky Lasek, may also be unlocked. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 will be released on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
Plus, in August 2022, there will be Little Nightmares.
Finally, there's Young Nightmares, a quirky horror game in which you help Six, a little girl clothed in a yellow raincoat, escape the miserable village of The Maw. As they fight enormous, corrupted souls seeking their next meal, players can expect a slew of riddles and platforming action. The game utilizes the psychological horror cliche of flickering lights and utter stillness to instill terror in you. Little Nightmares will only be available on PlayStation 4.
In addition, four additional Yakuza games will be added to PS Plus during the course of 2022, bringing the total to eight titles. Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, Yakuza 5, and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will be offered to the subscription service later this year. Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, and the aforementioned Yakuza: Like a Dragon are currently available.
Sony also reminded PlayStation Plus members that they have until August 1 to add Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, Man of Medan, and Arcageddon to their library. These are the three free games for July that have been announced.
